Often Monthly Meeting the governing body of local Quaker congregations that meets monthly to discuss criteria for membership, endorsement of marriages, and other spiritually guided administrative responsibilities.

Quaker leadership envisions the monthly meeting as complementary to the family. The South River Monthly Meeting was formed in 1757.
