conjunctival sac n.
The space bound by the conjunctival membrane between the palpebral and bulbar conjunctiva of the eye.
The conjunctival sac should be washed out with boric lotion and a pad of cyanide gauze applied over the closed lid.
If discharge be present the conjunctival sac should be washed out carefully with boric lotion.
Irrigate the conjunctival sac thoroughly with sterile saline solution.
Normally the lachrymal secretion is largely removed from the conjunctival sac by a process of evaporation.
