Miescher Mie·scher (mē'shər), Johann Friedrich. 1844-1895.
Swiss physiologist who discovered (1869) nucleic acid.
We find, however, a more remarkable instance in the Monostomum bijugum of miescher.
miescher, particularly, has described the want of oxygen as a specific stimulus to the production of erythrocytes.
About ten years previously miescher found similar bodies in the muscles of the mouse.
