paravertebral par·a·ver·te·bral (pār'ə-vûr'tə-brəl, -vər-tē'brəl)
Located along a vertebra or the vertebral column.
The diffuse middorsal area is expanded and encloses the paravertebral rows of spots.
All of the specimens have the paired paravertebral spots and blotches with light centers.
paravertebral rows were continuous posteriorly in alimens examined by me.
In some specimens the dorsum between the paravertebral stripes is still paler brown.
There are no paravertebral dark stripes nor pale spots on the dorsal scales.
The lateral and dorsolateral stripes are cream-colored; the paravertebral stripes are white.
