It comes a day after 22 people were injured, two of them seriously, in a Houthi drone attack in the Israeli Red Sea resort of Eilat.
On 10 September, four days after a Houthi drone attack on Eilat's Ramon airport wounded one person, the Israeli military carried out a series of strikes in Sanaa and al-Jawf province that killed 35 people, according to the Houthi-run health ministry.
"IDF troops, alongside the Israel Police, were dispatched to the area of Eilat after receiving a report of a UAV attack," the IDF said in a statement.
Earlier in September, one person was wounded when a Houthi drone hit Ramon Airport, just north of Eilat.
The mother and son, along with 17 other injured Palestinians, plus their relatives, were set to cross the border to the Israeli city of Eilat on Wednesday, where they would then be flown to various cities in Italy on chartered flights by the Italian Air Force, the country's foreign ministry said in a statement.
