Keiko Fujimori announced Thursday she will run for Peru's presidency next year, marking her fourth attempt to lead the country once helmed by her father, dictator Alberto Fujimori, from 1990 to 2000.
"I want to announce my decision to run for the presidency of the republic," the 50-year-old told hundreds of supporters wearing t-shirts with the slogan "Fujimori 2026," per TV reports.
Fujimori is polling at seven percent, as is rival Mario Vizcarra.
