1. to cause an unnecessary rise or inflation in (prices, rents, or the like) merely in order to increase profits that are already healthy or excessive, and not as a result of market pressure or any other factor that is organic to the economy.

   Some landlords use any wage gains as an excuse to greedflate the rent.

   Cost of living is high, and it doesn't help that some corporations are greedflating right now.
