Cleveland, Grover

  1. A Democratic party political leader of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries who was president from 1885 to 1889 and again from 1893 to 1897 — the only president ever to serve nonconsecutive terms. Cleveland's presidencies were marked by his fight against corruption in the federal government and by his efforts to solve national financial problems.
