hypokalemic periodic paralysis

[ hī′pō-kə-lēmĭk ]

n.

An inherited form of periodic paralysis characterized by attacks in which the serum potassium level is low and respiratory paralysis may occur. Onset usually occurs between the ages of 7 and 21 years.
