Metagonimus

[ mĕt′ə-gŏnə-məs ]

n.

A genus of flukes that encyst on fish and infest humans and other fish-eating animals, including Metagonimus yokogawai, a common intestinal fluke in eastern Asia and the Balkan states, which causes diarrhea when ingested in its larval form in raw fish.
