Rodgers, Richard

  1. A twentieth-century American popular composer. He is known for writing the music to a long succession of musical comedies, including Oklahoma!, South Pacific, The King and I, and The Sound of Music. In all these musicals, the spoken dialogue and lyrics were written by Oscar Hammerstein II.
