Tb test
A test to determine if an individual has been infected (see infection) with the bacteria that cause tuberculosis. Although the Tb test does not show whether the infection is active or inactive, it is very useful in screening people who may have been exposed to the disease and in locating people who already have the disease.

Cattle which fail a TB test, or animals that have inconclusive results for two consecutive tests, and are classed as "reactors", must be isolated then sent to slaughter.
The findings are a roadmap to developing a TB test that is as simple as the lateral flows used during Covid, said study co-director Dr Diana Garay-Baquero, also from Southampton.
"If a farm goes down to TB it's the vet who has to break the news. Vets know just how much that is putting a family under - you're dealing with their livelihood. A vet giving out a failed TB test, well, it's devastating," he said.
In Wales cattle cannot be removed from a farm after a positive TB test.
It is believed the man, named locally as 58-year-old Maldwyn Harries, was attacked by a bull during a TB test on Friday morning.
