[ vĭ-pō′mə ]
An endocrine tumor, usually originating in the pancreas, that produces a vasoactive intestinal polypeptide believed to cause profound cardiovascular and electrolyte changes with vasodilatory hypotension, watery diarrhea, hypokalemia, and dehydration.
