Scientific definitions for fascicular cambium

fascicular cambium
[ fə-sĭk′yə-lər ]

Cambium that develops within the vascular bundles in the stem of a plant. Among the eudicotyledons, layers of fascicular cambium within the individual vascular bundles are connected by cambium tissue between the bundles (the interfascicular cambium) to form a ring of tissue within the stem. This ring of cambium matures to become the vascular cambium, which permits secondary growth of the eudicotyledon stem. See also interfascicular cambium vascular bundle.
