Stanton, Elizabeth Cady

  1. A reformer and feminist who joined with Lucretia Mott in issuing the call for the first women's rights convention in America, which was held at Seneca Falls, New York, in 1848. Stanton later worked in close partnership with Susan B. Anthony for women's suffrage. (See Seneca Falls Convention.)
