Etymology

Origin of undoubted

late Middle English word dating back to 1425–75; see origin at un- 1, doubt, -ed 2

Explanation

Something that's undoubted is generally accepted as certain or true. If you make $100 in one afternoon at your lemonade stand, it's an undoubted success! You can use the adjective undoubted to describe things you have no doubt about, in much the same way you'd use undisputed. If everyone agrees that you're the best Monopoly player in the whole family, you're the game's undoubted champion. And when you have a pal who's always there for you, they're your undoubted friend — you don't have the slightest bit of doubt about their friendship.
