a river in northern central Asia, flowing east and north through the northwestern Mongolian People's Republic through the Republic of Buryatia in the southeastern Russian Federation to Lake Baikal. About 700 miles (1,125 km) long.

When we left Verkne Udinsk we crossed the Selenga before passing the municipal limits.
