El Hasa, a fertile district of Eastern Arabia, on the Persian Gulf.
In 1742 Mahommed Ibn Saud, sheik of Deraiya, accepted his doctrines, and enforced them by his sword with such effect that before his death in 1765 the whole of eastern Nejd and El Hasa was converted to the faith of Abdul Wahhab, and accepted the political supremacy of Ibn Saūd.
This El Hasa. province, which skirts the Persian Gulf from the mouth of the Euphrates to the frontiers of Oman, is low and hot; its shores are flat, and with the exception of Kuwet at the north-west corner of 259 the gulf, it possesses no deep water port.

Other important routes leading to Nejd are those from Kuwet to Hail, and from El Hasa to Riad respectively.
