John, the Gospel According to
Cultural
-
The last of the four Gospels in the New Testament; it is markedly different from the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Many of the most famous events in the life of Jesus — including the Sermon on the Mount and the sharing of the bread and cup at the Last Supper — are not mentioned in the Gospel of John, which concentrates instead on the deepest implications of Jesus' mission. John's Gospel opens, “In the beginning was the Word.”
