In 1691 the Emperor Kang Hsi issued an edict explaining his attitude towards various religions.

In the reign of 314 Kang Hsi the prohibition was removed, and astronomical science once more began to flourish.

It originally consisted of sixteen moral maxims delivered in 1670 under the form of an edict by the Emperor Kang Hsi.

Kang Hsi died in 1722, after completing a full cycle of sixty years as occupant of the Dragon Throne.

On the 28th of the 9th moon of the 4th year of Kang Hsi, he killed his wife.
