Slang dictionary
getting sendy
[ get-ing send-ee ]
What does getting sendy mean?
Getting sendy refers to going all in or giving it your all. It’s thought to come from the sports term “send it,” which describes 100% commitment to an extreme or risky move. The slang phrase gained traction on social media in 2023, after a video from creators NELK Boys joked about getting sendy.
On social media platforms such as TikTok, getting sendy is less about extreme sports and more about extreme silliness. The phrase is often paired with videos of people pretending to “shotgun” food or other objects by whipping their heads back dramatically as they take a bite. In some clips, the user looks embarrassed that they’ve been filmed, which adds to the comedic effect.
