41
[ fawr-tee-wuhn ]
What does 41 mean?
Teachers and parents, beware: The kids have a new favorite number. 41 (pronounced “forty-one,” or less commonly “four-one”) is a viral slang term that’s popular with Gen Alpha.
Like 67, another number kids can’t get enough of, 41 means nothing and everything at once. Largely nonsensical, 41 signals a trend that kids can join in on. Memes about 41 include a hand motion where palms face downward and move alternately back and forth across one’s chest. Users may also post videos that show the number 41 “in the wild,” whether it’s a sports score or an answer to a math problem.
The slang term 41 is thought to come from the track “41 Song” by Blizzi Boi, and it’s often dubbed the “new 67.”
